    The difference is that they are not Albanians any more .... they are "Arvanites". And the "so-called" Greek national dress .... is still a dress .... and is Albanian.

      The MAJORITY of the soldiers, then it is safe to assume that the MAJORITY of the people in Greece at the time also spoke Albanian.

      Greece at the time had recently gained a lot of new lands, thus the soldiers in the Greek army where from the Peloponnese, the central Greek main land and the islands.

      And somehow today we have the glorious descendants of Pericles amongst us.......

        As my father says, today we have exclusive Albanian Problem with those in the West and in the South
        To enquire after the impression behind an idea is the way to remove disputes concerning nature and reality.

              Another source about the early history of modern Greeks, and again full of references to Albanians. There is so much already about this topic, that threads such as these are a pleasant way of rubbing further salt into the wounds of Pericles' 'descendants' today - or those that think more of the 'ancient' link than they should.

                They truly have a identity crisis no doubt about it. The modern Greeks hate the Albanians with a passion but they don't realize that they are only hating their own people.
                Very sad that they can't accept and embrace there true identity the Albanian identity.

                    Daniel check your inbox. Here's more on what the modern "greeks" were up to;

                    "illusions of Greek descent" is a very accurate description of the population of Macedonia's southern neighbor. Also look at the Satanic grk church and their evil work,,,,, I saw a grk priest on the street a few days ago. He looked like this

Or did that situation end when the Albanians in the Greek army were taught to sing army songs in Greek against their own people?

                              I do believe Greeks exist, I just don't agree on the numbers and the way they transpired. Most had a new identity conjured for them by outsiders, as opposed to the native identification process for Macedonians, who didn't need someone from England or Bavaria to tell us about our own historical origins.
