I have also seen Canadian newspapers from the 20's (and one from the 60's) where they advertised themselves simply as a "Macedonian Orthodox Church". One has to ask would this not have offended the Bulgarians or pro-Bulgarian parishioners at that time?
So few of the parishioners in the US churches were actual ethnic Bulgarians during the 1900s through 1920s.
