Ohrid they are Macedonian but I think the problem is that is a male nosija and have not been in use for a very very long time. Nowdays in mountain villages you can still see women wearing the nacionalna nosija but never men unless is like a dance group. I think that's why it's difficult for me to work out where it's from, I haven't seen many of these.

Of course it does, this undercover ethnic Albanian pretending to be a Macedonian on our forum makes reference to things he can 'try' and relate to his own people.

What do you think the point of this thread is? I will tell you, because the ethnic Albanians have adopted Macedonian costumes over the years as a result of their interaction with the local population of western Macedonia and beyond, Ohrid77 is hoping to highlight the similarities, probably with the ultimate aim of 'proving' that they are really ethnic Albanian costumes, which they aren't.

Put the accusations of 'head hunting' aside, in excess of 90% of this individual's posts in this forum have been in relation to ethnic Albanians in Macedonia. Who could forget his 'fantastic' assertions when he first arrived here, where he was trying to claim that Bitola was basically full of ethnic Albanians, most of whom left during Yugoslav times, which tipped the balance in favour of the Macedonian population? And his half-arse attempt at reverse psychology where he referred to the Albanian language as a "disgusting" tongue, or something to that effect? Honesty is becoming quite the rare virtue these days.

              Here Ohrid77, just for you:

page75  that means that looking past the Albanianess of it all,,,the modern "greek" national costume is actually Slavic in influence :D

The Albanians who dwell in Greece all belong to the Greek Church. They are mostly agriculturalists, and seem to care little for political or professional life. They wear a peculiar dress, which was adopted by them mostly from the Slavs, and was regarded as the national costume of Greece after the Revolution.........(Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1907)
Ohrid77, why don't you open a topic to see how much Macedonian influence there is in the Albanian language and culture?

SOM, The Albanians recently stated that Jovan Bigorski is Albanian.

That title would be better than the current one, I mean, the guy goes to the effort of researching the type of dress, posting pictures of it, etc, you think he doesn't know what regions they are worn in?

Of course he does, but he is waiting for reference to be made to western Macedonia, from where he will 'try' and tie in his ethnic Albanian fantasy, as if the Macedonians owe even .0000001% of their culture to these 'mystery' people that appear for the first time during the Middle Ages as mercenaries in East Rome.

Prolet, they have also claimed Alexander, Kukuzel and others, why not, so have the Bulgars, so have the Greeks, it is like they have no history of worth unless they criminally snatch something from the Macedonians.

It doesn't bother me, we have the truth and logic on our side, we always have, so while Greeks are claiming 4,000 years, Albanians are claiming Pelasgians from even earlier, and Bulgars are claiming Orpheus - The Macedonians go forth claiming that which is Macedonian.

Ironic that Albanians would steal it from the Macedonians. The majority of Gheg Albanians wear those pants, and coincidentally, the Western part of Macedonia where those pants.

If you must know, I am Macedonian. I was born in Macedonia, and thus, I am a Macedonian citizen. Thats more then I can say for you Macedonians that were probably born in Australia and visit every 3 years or so.

My parents consider themselves Torbesh. My father's side of the family tend to speak Albanian (some do speak Turkish) while my mother's side speak Macedonian. Since my father tends to be more pro-Albanian, I've been more exposed to the Albanian side growing up (I would assume that to be somewhat natural taking the identity of the father's side.) However I do value my Macedonian side and I've joined this forum to learn more about it.

I don't buy the source nor can I find a link to it. The Albanians in Greece mainly wore the Fustanella .........which is hardly Slavic.
