This initiative has been running for a few years now.

The forestation campaign was started after the 2007 wildfires that caused so much devastation.

Since then, every year it is bigger and better with more and more people getting involved and planting more and more trees, from 2.1 million trees to now 7.5 million in 2010.

It has now spread across the Balkans, it is an initiative for which Macedonia is becoming increasingly renowned and respected in the region and wider.

I think this is a fantastic initiative!

Let us in the Diaspora plant some trees in our own yards in a sign of solidarity.

Lets hope they continue the great work.
Hopefully they look into restoring the wild life.
And make Macedonia the garden of eden....

This can turn into a world wide initiative, especially here in Australia with so many Bush fires.
