    Eu vat

Ofcourse it wont apply to Greece…everyone knows they don’t pay tax.
The eu needs the revenue but are they going to put everyone in a vat.

The EU is considering introducing its own VAT

With the aim of providing more resources for their own financing institutions of the European Union, the European Commission within the framework of the revision of the EU budget, suggests the possibility of introducing their own value added tax (VAT).

The objective of the proposal Evrokomisjata that should be part of the debate on new financial perspectives of the EU for the period 2014 - 2020, is reducing the contributions of member states. Currently only 76 percent of revenues to the EU budget comes from contributions of Member States.

According to the European Commission, the EU could gradually establish one or more new own sources of funding.

Now they own sources cost tariffs, which provide 12 percent of total revenues of the Union and the fee for VAT in some countries, where 11 percent of incoming funds.

Among the possibilities mentioned that the Commission as a new custom springs taxation of financial transactions and financial activities, auctions of emission permits, fees for air transport, energy tax, VAT and specific countries.
