MACEDONIAN FEAST on MAY 1st, 2011

The Educative and Cultural Movement of Voden is organizing a Macedonian feast on May 1st, 2011, in the open, at the old village Cegan (Vodensko). There will be a music band from Lerin region which will play macedonian music and songs. There also will be a folk music group from Pirinska Macedonia, invited by the organizers of the event, to perform in Cegan.
Everybody is welcome to attend to this event!

Thank you Vodenka, I always knew there was village named Chegan, and a village called Ag. Athanasios, but I didn't know they were the same village. This village is a major tourist attraction in the area, especially in the winter.

Although we did not gather a large participation due to the terrible weather (it rained all day long in almost the whole Egejska region0 for an event in the open, we had the best party ever, in Egejska! For some hours, in the old village of Cegan, Macedonians from the 4 parts of Macedonia had the chance to spend the 1st of May festivity enjoying themselves by dancing and singing together! The party started at about 12:30 (noon) and ended at about 9:30 pm!!!! We had a music band from Neret (Lerinsko), a great music group from Sandanski (Pirinska Macedonia) and at the end the younger participants to the party played music by an accordion and a small tapan and sang the best Macedonian patriotic songs. During the event, some young men came to the place and we found out that they were Macedonians from Golo Brdo, who work in Greece during the summer time! They also had the chance to dance some Macedonian dances and drink some rakija with us!
We also had members of the Cegan Association from Skopje who traveled by bus a so long way, to be at the event in their old village, with us. Among them there was also the excellent singer Marija Dimkova who sang for us some wonderful songs! She also had the chance to meet with some people from Pozar (the village of her origin). We also had Kole Botsfaris who participated to the event, played the accordion and sang, with all his talent.
The event was great and unique and hopefully I will have a video to post, in the next days. The Educational and Cultural Movement of Voden will hold the 1st of May Party every year from now on, each year in a different Macedonian village, where the Macedonians united will be free to enjoy themselves in the best Macedonian way!
