One of the greatest authorities on the Macedonians is Dr G.B Washburn. He was a former professor and president of Robert College in Istanbul for most of his life.
In his book Fifty Years in Constantinople published by Boston Massachusetts in 1909, he writes about how he saw the creation of Bulgaria, and numerous Macedonian uprisings and Englands role in the affairs of Turkey ...etc.
In speaking about the students of Robert College, Dr Washburn wrote:
