Every statue besides the warrior with and without a horse is properly named... You have Phillip II in Bitola and Avtokomanda, Aleksandar in Prilep and Stip.

I think after they reach a certain size their true identities must be hidden, much like our name during representation in sporting events.

fyrom cheering warrior on a horse, and one without one.

Statues with correct names seem ok but if they bs with dual names is not worthy of anything. Are thetoo scared to show the real name.

Razer why is it ok for Bulgarian slavs claim Philip as one of their own, but the grks get up set when macedonia does so?

Why can the shiptars teach their students that Alexander was albanian and have him on their coins, yet when macedonia does this the grks go running to the eurofags and complain?

          @ Big Bad Sven

Wow, I wish you can calm down and travel to Bulgaria so that you know what you're talking about...Plovdiv is one of the oldest cities in the world and has been in the hands of many civilisations - from Romans and Macedonians to Bulgarians. During antiquity it was briefly ruled by Plhilip and this is why there was a statue of him in the historic downtown area. Not too big of a statue, I can post some pics if you want...The statue was removed because of the renovation of the old Roman stadium. Bulgarians are not claiming Philip, that's crazy.

Also, Plovdiv was called Philippoupolis during antiquity. I think Philip conquered it in 342 BC.

No volk if it's not philip 2 it's a waste of money .The money could have gone to the poor. But if it's philip 2 then by all means. We don't want statues with double meanings around the place.
It could have fed all the Macedonians a nice meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner for one or two days.

A more valid criticism might have mentioned building bridges or fixing roads instead of statues. I am all for getting rid of this communist mentality. Macedonia faired the least under communism in the SFRJ.

I agree 100% with Ljubanec. Imagine how much infrastructure you can improve with 500 billion euro. Skopje is a beautiful city anyway. For that amount of money you can build a whole metro network and new road systems. Not do so when it's too late, like they're doing now in Sofia.

You sure? I think you can buy the whole Europe with 500 billion?

PS. Did the earthquake in Sofia last week cause any damage? Tremors were heard in Macedonia from it.

Razer you could allways get big daddy the eu to pay for it.I hope they stop with the statues only in main cities not in every town & village.
