    macedonian food festival 20 oct 2012 melbourne

    HI guys just wondering if any of you from melbourne went to this food festival that was on in williamstown yesterday.. If so some feedback would be great ie crowd, atmosphere set up etc. Cheers.

    I was there it was a great turnout and a really good day, the weather was beautiful and the spot they chose to have it was really good to, it would be great to see more events like this in the future

      Thanks for that feedback peshosnitsa. I hope they have more days like this too. Hopefully there were not too many ventilators around. Ps was there any vielnik on display. I really love it. Cheers

        No actually there weren’t to many ventilators witch was great much more of the real flag was flying yesterday ,
        Plenty of traditional Macedonian food including vielnik.

              great to hear and george i do mean vielnik that is what we my parents and grandparents have always called it. Normally fill with cheese, but my mum also makes it with sultanas and sometimes a pumpkin one.

                      Vielnik is the other name for Maznik, many Macedonians from the occupied part of Macedonia call it Vielnik due to the pastry being "Vieno" - wrapped around.
                      Verata vo Mislite, VMRO vo dushata, Makedonia vo Srceto.

                      Vnatreshna Makedonska Revolucionerna Organizacija.

                              Great photos, looks like a good day was had by all, nice to see the Kutlesh Sonce everywhere, only ruined by a couple of ventilators!
                              On Delchev's sarcophagus you can read the following inscription: "We swear the future generations to bury these sacred bones in the capital of Independent Macedonia. August 1923 Illinden"
