The fate of Macedonia was already decided by western powers long before 1913. It was obvious that Aegean Macedonia was going to be awarded to the Greece.
Britain and her allies used Salonika as the main supply base in WW-1 and they occupied Cyprus shortly before the war. Without controlling all Aegean islands and Salonika port, they wouldn't be able to control mediterranean sea, therefore they wouldn't further advance into Palestine and middle-east because all the overland routes to there, was already locked up Turkish territories.
For example, Britain left Cyprus to the Turks and Greeks at 1959 but they specifically demanded from us to have two military seaport and small private British territory in the island. The UK retains a military presence on the island in order to keep a strategic location in the mediterranean, for use as a staging point for forces sent to locations in the Middle East and Asia, just in case for possible future conflicts. So, if you think that British wanted to keep a strategic base in there even in peace and calm of 1950s, you can guess how badly they needed Salonika and Cyprus few months before WW-1.
Also thats why whole world tries to throw Turks out from Cyprus cuz it`s currently Turkey`s sole base in mediterranean sea.Last edited by Onur; 10-30-2010, 06:35 AM.

Bulgarian outrages in Macedonia
The Mercury (Hobart), Tuesday 17 April, 1906
Bulgarian Outrages, Macedonians Incinerated
Bulgarian revolutionary bands are committing horrible outrages in Macedonia.
Two chiefs of the Vurkhovist faction burnt the village of Libofka, and forced the wife of a chief named Anghel Mentcho and her two little children to enter a burning dwelling, where they locked them in.
The woman and children were incinerated.
The outrage was committed because Anghel afforded hospitality to Sandansky, the head of a rival band.
