The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia's bid to join the EU is currently blocked by a dispute with Athens over its name, which is identical to that of a Greek province.

Guys, I just sent them a letter advising them this is factually incorrect.
That no municipality or province in Greece is exactly the same as Macedonia. It is ridiculous to keep suggesting the names are identical.

The E.U has always backed Greece in this dispute, and the Macedonians have recklessly exposed themselves. By talking to these idiots the Macedonian government have legitimized the Greek position, and it shows. The longer our enemies can call us anything they like and get away with it, the worse it will be. I think it is time the Macedonian government took a principled stand against these Western institutions and Western structures.

It (the E.C) expresses its readiness to recognize that republic within its existing borders according to their Declaration on 16 December 1991 under a name which does not include the term Macedonia.

I hope they wake up to the truth one of these days Osiris. But I don't think the Macedonian leadership have all the information - there is so much to process and so much gets missed that as far as we know the Macedonian leadership believe there is nothing wrong with the E.U and probably know very little about how the West has historically dealt with the Macedonian 'rot' - eradication.

Do NOTHING to promote eu relations. NATO says we fulfil their requirements but for the name and I think the eu is the same. Its time to remind them there is more to the world than eu or nothing. Where is the eu to condemn Greece over such action see Bratots thread Racist and Nazi slogans against the Macedonians by Greek army. Where are the eus principles. Can you imagine if Macedonia said anything like this against anyone. These are the moments Macedonia can score points but gruevski has disappointed me on this one.

This result can also be achieved by clicking on the red header part of the video clip in the thread. If you are using FireFox as your browser there is an application which you can imbed into your FireFox browser called DowloadHelper which will allow you to download you tube video clips to your hard disk. There are also other video download programs available on the net but they are at a cost.

I particularly like the right hand swings as they march making the Nazi salute. If this is not enough to condemn Greece what is. Macedonians should be bringing this to the attention of newspapers radio talkback shows and current event TV shows in every eu country and the west. This is not a war of guns but a war of public opinions. If we sit quiet it is as if it didn’t happen and in the west’s public opinion the Greeks are still not the bad guy. You do not win this kind of war by just being right. You also have to vilify your opponent. If Macedonians did anything like this against anyone our name would be dragged through the mud.

The anti-Macedonian hatred coming from the E.U and from Greece is amazing.

It would be a huge surprise, if the Macedonian leadership decided it did not want to be part of a racist, intolerant Europe. But this is whats required.

The Macedonian Republic should sign a free trade and free visa agreement with Turkey. Why dosen't it start its own trade federation? Why doesn't it create its own "zone" for trade, starting with Turkey and open to any non-E.U member (which leaves only Serbia and Albania).

A kind of "Macedonian Euro-Zone" to counter the E.U zone.
