FM Liberman to visit Macedonia

FM Liberman will be accompanied by representatives of the Israeli business sector in high-tech, construction and agriculture with the aim of developing economic relations between Israel and Macedonia.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Liberman will leave on Sunday (2 May 2010) on a visit to Macedonia.
The Foreign Minister will hold bilateral meetings with Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Pesevski, Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki, Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski, and Minister of Information Society Ivo Ivanovski.
FM Liberman will be accompanied by representatives of the Israeli business sector in high-tech, construction and agriculture with the aim of developing economic relations between Israel and Macedonia.
The visit is part of Israel's policy of strengthening ties with the Balkan states, and FM Liberman will discuss with his hosts greater cooperation in a variety of fields. He will also thank them for standing by Israel and opposing the Goldstone Report in the UN General Assembly and the Human Rights Council. He will raise the issue of halting Iranian nuclearization and the status of negotations with the Palestinians.
In the course of the visit, FM Liberman will meet with the heads of the Jewish community in Macedonia, visit the Holocaust Memorial Center, and lay a wreath at the memorial to 7200 Macedonian Jews who were sent to the Treblinka death camp.
