GS, it's essentially a barbaric act steeped in the cultural practices of savages and religious zealots...the 'hygiene' angle is largely bullshit as urine is sterile when expelled from a healthy body...there's probably more issues relating to botched circumcisions including disfigurement of the penis and infections from the procudeure than anything to do with 'hygiene' practices...

George, health insurance doesn't cover circumcision even in Turkey, a muslim populated country, unless if it`s some kind of necessity, an obligation for health. So, people pays full expenses here for that.


Phoenix, yes circumcision is 1000s year old tradition but it`s health benefits has been proven today. Urine is likely to create problems if you are uncircumcised due to that extra skin and it`s also proven that uncircumcised males are more prone to sexual transmitted diseases and spreading the viruses to his partners too.

Julie the circumssision is not just on males.It's also on females but on females it's actually
degarading as they mutilate the vagina & there is a lot of bleeding.Also there is a fair risk of a fatal infection.Just ignore the porn bit i'm too old for it anyway.Just wishfull yakety yak.They do it with unsterilised knives etc in their backyards.

I think hygiene standards have improved since 2000 years ago.If we really need a circumcision why didn't god make us so we don't need it.I think russel has got a good point.
