Not yet approved hrmm... What are they waiting for? My bet is it won't be approved at all and if it is they will remove a few rays from the sonce like they did with the 'Warrior on a horse' statue.

If they had any real balls they would change the flag back to the sonce and the coat of arms to the red and yellow lion just to piss the gypsies off

I think you hit the nail on the head!

What Greece thinks about Macedonia and her history should not hold great importance to Macedonians.

          I doubt it.
In the name of the blood and the sun, the dagger and the gun, Christ protect this soldier, a lion and a Macedonian.

Actually this looks a little like the 1000 drachmas bill, Greece had from about mid-1950s to mid-1970s.

That's a bit like Israel releasing banknotes with Adolf Hitler on them.

Actually, it looks a lot like the Alexander mosaic in Naples...hang on, it is.

MN unless Macedonia makes a drastic change to her name "mutually acceptable to whom just Greece?. Then its no go to the eu or nato.Macedonia's Big mistake is not working within the frame work like institutions. For example we know how short the fyrom name was mean't to be ,Macedonia could have sought recognition of her constitutional name by the un within its framework internally. Then being accepted under her constitutional name they could have applied ion the eu or nato auspices again working within the intstitutions internal framework. In this way Greece's veto etc can be kept at bay.Greece could become irrelevant in the scheme of things.Other people have pointed out that Macedonia is so disadvantaged allways working outside the many institutional framework no wonder we allways miss out.We are allways missing out on the eight ball.

Of course I do. This bill was printed in the mid-50s. The Vergina discoveries were made in the late-70s.

This is a good (full?) aggregated list of inscriptions per location. Even though it says Northern Greece, Macedonia it seems to extend to Lyncestis and all archaeological locations outside Greece (see Lyncestis, Ovce Polje, NW Region, Derriopos, Paionia, Parorbelia, Pelagonia and Sintike).

                          Click on Northern Greece
Then click on Macedonia (Right-Top of page)

Vergina (Aigeai) is under Bottiaia region.

also prior to that when they conquered Macedonia it became the occupied lands.Occupied Militarily)and not liberated.later on in the 1970,80,s to counteract Macedonian independence they called it province of Macedonia.I don't know if you know thatin 1912 after the Balkan wars Macedonia was split up amongs't the varous countries.Greece ,Bulgaria, serbia 7 eventually Albania. In history it says Greece was not happy with her share ,she wanted more.
