    A peculiar trend

Has anyone else noticed a relatively common theme starting to emanate from the Greeks in that they own greater than 50% of what has been known as Macedonia. And, as a consequence, they should be heard at the expense of Native Macedonians.

What a silly statement. If one were to question how they got their holding, then their arguments become immediately irrelevant. They want to give the impression that they lost the remaining percentages of Macedonia. If anyone actually believes this, they must re-visit their history books.

I put this one right in the same place as the alleged lack of human rights for ethnic Greeks in Macedonia. Both irrelevant distractions.

Risto, I much prefer to let this argument of theirs seed and become more prevalent. If this becomes their main argument it also helps us bring forward arguments that we have until now been too 'politically correct' to bring forward.

We keep avoiding the division of Macedonia in today's arguments, yet with this 51% business, the Greeks are bringing that argument out for us, themselves explaining that Macedonia was divided.

    It creates opportunity for us.

We say it (even in the books in the elementary school) in geographical terms. And if we want to speak in percentages i remind you that ROM lies in 7% of Ancient Macedonia , 80% in the 3kingdoms of Upper Macedonia and the rest was inhabited from barbaric tribes. So the right name for your country is Upper Macedonia which will solve the problem because after Philippos conquered these 3 kingdoms they were considered as Macedonians.

But what do geographic terms have to do with modern races and their declarations?
Again, the only connection modern Greece has with Macedonia is a perceived and tenuous connection with an ancient civilisation.

The poor kids in elementary school do not have a chance .... do they.

As i have said many times i am not good in history so i cannot confront you. But tell me. Are French the descendants of Franks? Are germans the descendants of Saxons? Are you the descendants of Ancient Macedonians?

Why do you debate then? Your arguments can only be (weakly) based upon history.

But tell me. Are French the descendants of Franks?
Not even close. Most of them became modern Germans and Dutch if you are talking about language as an indicator.

Are germans the descendants of Saxons?
Maybe, but most were subjugated by Franks. You have heard of Anglo-Saxons too haven't you? Was this really a good example?

Are you the descendants of Ancient Macedonians?
I would say by exactly the same amount as any indigenous people of the Macedonian geographical region. Naturally this automatically excludes any Christian imports from Turkey.

                It really does.

The division of Macedonia is what this is all about, and it needs to be raised.

I think it is important that they say that a part of Macedonia has been Hellenized, and that from a historical point of view, native Macedonians were never Greeks.

It needs to be said, and they need to start from here.

The "negotations" have already given the Greek lie some legitimacy, or even equality, and this is more than I have been able to bare.

I think the Greeks need to be put back into their place.

Only the truth will set the Macedonians free.
