Macedonia 2025 in Skopje

There is video footages on both websites, there are mixed feelings about what Macedonia 2025 has done so far in the past 2 years. Mike Zafirovski is saying how more needs to be done in order to attract foreign investors.

Prolet, like I said on maknews Macedonia 2025 don't care about the Macedonian cause and their only real concern is the Republic of Macedonia (investment, promote and services) and fighting for our name means very little to them.

RMK, They question them what they have done for the past 2 years, its got nothing to do with the name issue. Its basically what impact have they had so far in the campaign.

Looking at the 2025 web site one can only conclude dry as a bone business. MakedonskaKafana makes a good observation that such an organisation lacks the human passion other Macedonian organisations show towards the Macedonian cause.

At first I was inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt as helping Macedonia is part of the Macedonian cause and each can do according to their means and abilities and as such the high end business people they seek to attract to their organisation is a reflection of where they see they can make their main thrust ie business. In itself it is not a bad thing Macedonia sorely needs greater business reform and acumen as much as it needs investment. If this organisation can best aid the Macedonian cause by addressing this side of Macedonia’s needs then they are a positive force for the Macedonian cause.

As mentioned their website is very dry and my first impression left me feeling uneased much like having a great desert that you know you should like but somehow left wanting and a bit queasy only to later discover a few ingredients were missing or substituted with artificial variants and maybe a bug or two giving you the feeling of a mild case of food poisoning.

Having seen both video clips I think I understand the feelings their website gives me and am inclined to agree with MakedonskaKafana there is definitely something there and its probably that like businessmen they see the potential in Macedonia given her current state of progress is at the point where many of the primary ingredients are there waiting for an impetus to fuse together to form a more cohesive functioning unit. They basically say it themselves that they have been lobbying the government for the past two years to invest more heavily in IT and other infrastructure to lay the heavy foundations so that they and other foreign businesses can swoop in avail themselves of this infrastructure and establish themselves as the dominant players in lucrative industries. A case in point EVN was invited to run Macedonia’s electricity industry on the basis certain amounts of infrastructure investment and maintenance would be done by them. It was not let the government modernise and pay for the whole electrical infrastructure and then stand back and allow some foreign company to run things send out bills and scoop up profits. Za na drobeno znajme da srkame ne ni treba ti od stranstvo da ni pokazis kako se drzi lajcata. Before any feel like commenting the irony is not lost on me that this coming from a guy who calls himself Ozi. Just remember the Mak is on the inside. I just wonder if the 2025 groups inner Mak is as dry as their website implies.

Business investment is good but not at any cost and this is what leaves me uneasy about the 2025 group not to mention even their name 2025 screams suss. Being Macedonian and knowing Macedonians and remembering the business venture disasters of the past one can only say extend the benefit of the doubt in spades only at your own peril. Two years of lobbying and achievements… They should be told that as businessmen from outside they must have heard the saying Money talks and….walks.

I looked at some of the comments made by our people in stari kraj and they seemed very offended by them.

When you look at things closely, the interviews they give out are not very encouraging at all. One guy says how he's never looked at investing outside of USA, the other says how they send 50 containers of clothes to Macedonia every year and the other guy says he gives preferences to Macedonians to come and work for him in his business i think in USA. The people there feel degraded its not like Macedonia is Somalia or Afghanistan, i still think that Risto Gushterov and Gjorgjija George Atanasovski have done the most from the Diaspora in Stari Kraj.
