    New Border Crossing approved Berovo-Sandanski

This is great for our people in Pirinska Makedonija who will be able to visit Stari Kraj alot easier, i think we need more of these border crossings so our citizens will be able to travel easier.

Many think that the border crossing Prespa-German and Kavadarci-Sobotsko will be approved next, I hope they do.

Niko777, Do you mean Markova Noga-German? I agree totally and not only that there are many border crossings around the Serbia and Albania region.

Dzepchishte-Trebishte is one that comes to mind, i believe they are still working on that plus there are others aswell in the Golo Brdo Region.

Good idea, however why hasnt the border crossing at Trebiste in Golo Brdo been built?! The albanian side has been completed for months, whereas on the Macedonian side construction has not even begun (to the best of my knowledge). If the Macedonian government was truly interested in minorities in the neighbouring countries, then they would be investing in place where the Macedonian minority is active and 'making noise' so to speak, such as in Golo Brdo. I often struggle to understand the logic of the people governing Macedonia.

Prolet, what do you mean with 'stari kraj'? Macedonians in Pirin are living in Macedonia and in their place of origin. So what are you saying?

Daskale, Stari Kraj as in Macedonia, Pirinska Makedonija is porobena. At least in Egejska Makedonija they have the Vinozito Political Party with a few offices and some NGO's, In Pirinska Makedonija they are living worse then Tursko Robstvo.

Mastika,Trebishte-Dzepchishte was closed in the 1960s some time, its in terrible condition i saw footage of the Ilinden Celebrations a car couldnt drive there people had to walk across the border. The Albanian side looks terrible with no road at all its just dirt, the Government did say they are going to fix up the roads and border crossing. On the Markova Noga-German border crossing our side is completed while the Greeks still have some work to do.

I totally agree with that, If you look at the Slovenian-Austrian border for example they got 12 border crossings,we got 2-3 with our neighbors. One was opened just recently in the Kriva Palanka region with Serbia, we need a few others around the Kosovo region for the Gorani to be able to travel around easier. Kavadarci-Sobotsko is another important border crossing.

Watching a video link from televizija sonce I understood that the Albanian side of the border crossing had been completed, and that the inhabitants of Golo Brdo were frustrated at the Macedonian government for not fixing their end of the crossing.

A border crossing to Gora will not be happening anytime soon as it is financially/geographically unviable. It would have to go either OVER Sar Planina or through the mountain (like in the Swiss Alps) both of which are expensive options for the Macedonian government. I doubt being able to get from Tetovo to Prizren quicker will inspire the Macedonian government into action. Although it would benefit the Gorani, would quicker access to Kosovo be in Macedonia's best interests?, especially if the security of NW Macedonia deteriorates again like it did 9 years ago.

Mastika, I been to the Tetovo-Brezovica crossing on the Kosovo side its very small and its just one road but it wasnt opened and we had to go back towards Blace. I agree about that border crossing its all Albanians that way but towards Albania, in between Kosovo,Albania and Macedonia where the Gorani are i think that would be a good crossing but i agree its in the mountains and it would cost alot of money to finance it however we can easily get EU grants for redevelopment and im sure they can just put a road there and open up a border crossing in the near future, i dont trust anything to do with Kosovo, its the black hole of the balkans people are smuggling there everyday i think we should tighten our borders with Kosovo especially now with the security threats coming from their side.

The Kozuf side of the border Kavadarci-Sobotsko is going to be awesome i think they had plans to build a chairlift to go across the border into Egejska Makedonija, Sar Planina is a beautiful mountain and one of the best in Macedonia its a shame that its bordering Kosovo.
