    Macedonian Archeology

Lets start this thread here 2

Many people who were not ancient Greeks used the ancient Greek language for coin inscriptions, does this come as a suprise to you?

Do yourself a favour and save this type of irrelevance for the place it belongs, in the moron sector of the cyberworld called maggotsontheweb. It will have no place here, that I will personally assure you.
In the name of the blood and the sun, the dagger and the gun, Christ protect this soldier, a lion and a Macedonian.

Huh, what people do you mean exactly, because if you imply the Phoenicians, you are in for a big surprise.

The coin is not very well minted, and the first letter could be something else, but my bet is this:

        Lykkeioy

In honor of someone with the name Lykis or Lykeias - my guess.

Ironically, that (almost) how we call the last 3 years of high school in Greece (just before college/university)...: Lykeio.

          Ha!

          This coin is PAEONIAN:

...But the Paeonians were different from the Macedonians. Maybe you just found out that your country is a little bit outside of Ancient Macedonia?

...And no, you are wrong. Greek was spoken in there too:

...And the language does not appear to be Satem:

          ...While yours is Satem:

...You couldn't claim even the Ancient Paeonians, if you tried to...

Just like to take this chance to say to the Admins a job very well done. The forum has been open 5 minutes and the pieces of shit are here already quoting Wikipedia and raving about how 'greek' was spoken 6 million years ago by the fucken dinosaurs.

They don't get that fanatical if they don't feel threatened so you're already doing a fantastic job.

Hmm, a Paeonian coin in Macedonia.
              Good.
If you could read this in the opening post:

You would have found this out much faster.

Argh! You are utterly confusing me! The title of the thread group says: "Macedonian archaeology" what am I supposed to assume?

I can not read the opening post, my apologies. The title does not say that Lykkeios was a Paeonian though, unless if that пајонскиот means Paeonian.

Ah, one more question. Since all of you hate wikipedia, why don't you try to quote other encyclopaedias? There is Encarta, Britannika, even Makpedia, I do not object to Makpedia really - if you could find it where it is...

Just think what else you might find out about Macedonians if you could read our language.

Greek? The modern Greek you speak which is an offshoot of the Romeic language that was finally decided upon in the 1970s is it this Greek you mean?

                        All live languages evolute.
Since Greek is written for the last 3.600 years...and was and is a live language... it changes.

On the other hand old slavonic appeared before 1.000 years and modern macedonian was canonized before 50 years.
