The US is egging on Lithuania to blockade the Russians, meanwhile the Germans are pissed off with Lithuania and can see the wider ramifications of such a reckless move...all it shows is the lack of unity not just within the EU but the coordination of strategy between the US and EU.

The Russians will just bide their time over the next few months, they will go about their business of systematically dismantling the Ukrainian military whilst limiting Russian losses, this will be a slow grind until the end of summer...once the cold weather begins to set in, all the negotiating power will be in Russian hands and even the establishment of a land bridge to Kaliningrad won't entirely be out of the question.

Is the strategy against Russia working yet?
            https://www.reuters.com/business/ene...le-2022-09-03/

Russia kept one of its main gas supply routes to Europe shut on Saturday, stoking fears of winter fuel shortages and spotlighting differences between Gazprom (GAZP.MM) and Germany's Siemens Energy (ENR1n.DE) over repair work on the pipeline. Already struggling to tame soaring gas prices, European governments had expected the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to resume flows after a short maintenance this week but Russia abruptly cancelled the restart, citing an oil leak in a turbine.
            Meanwhile.......

As Europe's energy costs skyrocket, Russia is burning off large amounts of natural gas, according to analysis shared with BBC News. They say the plant, near the border with Finland, is burning an estimated $10m (£8.4m) worth of gas every day. Experts say the gas would previously have been exported to Germany. Germany's ambassador to the UK told BBC News that Russia was burning the gas because "they couldn't sell it elsewhere".

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock wants to keep her promise to Ukraine. Electricity is getting expensive, and the situation in Europe will come to a head in winter. But German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (41, Greens) makes it clear that possible protests over high energy prices will not lead to the lifting of sanctions against Russia. At a panel discussion in Prague, she said: "If I promise the people of Ukraine: ‘We will be by your side as long as you need us’, then I will keep this promise. No matter what my German voters think. But I will support the people of Ukraine as promised.”
              German democracy at work.

                  It won't be long now.
Add the 500% electricity price hike starting October 1st in England and revolution may well be on the cards.

Meanwhile, France is firing up all its nuclear reactors now.

                  Interesting times ahead.

There can’t possibly be any sane discussion around the move away from fossil fuels without a real consideration of nuclear power…

With the Germans facing the real prospect of deindustrialisation due to high energy costs and the unreliability of current renewable technologies, the French would be fucking nuts not going head first into nuclear to broaden their industrial base at the expense of what the Germans could potentially lose…

I heard the Germans are out chopping trees in the forests in preparation for the coming winter. I don't think they're laughing and snickering at Trump anymore. Funny that, he was right again.
