Open invitation to Greeks to discuss the Greekness of Macedonia

    Dear readers,
It has occurred to me that many of you would like to delve into this issue that has been caricatured all over the internet.

In a world where a "Greek" could be anybody who "feels" Greek ... even though he exhibits no common Greek cultural traits whatsoever (are there any?)... is allowed to be Greek. In fact is wholly and very publicly embraced as a long lost brother. One wonders why the world has not questioned some of the statements of the apparent experts so reliant on mythology and religion for their flimsy modern identity.

Notwithstanding this, please consider this forum and indeed this thread as an opportunity to put forward your case. I will caution you that reliance on mythology and religious affiliations are unacceptable. We need more than that to sway our opinion.

We have discussed quite often the issue of the "Greekness of Greece" with horrific question marks looming over our Southern neighbours. But let us not go on about that .... now is the time to tell us what the most powerful arguments for the Greekness of Macedonia are. Quite frankly, I am not confident of any case FOR your argument.

Consider this your golden opportunity to tell the Macedonians how it really is.

Haha, love it, let's see what happens.
In the name of the blood and the sun, the dagger and the gun, Christ protect this soldier, a lion and a Macedonian.

While discussing the 'Greekness' of Macedonia, is it also possible to get a modern Greek definition of the term 'Hellenism' as well. I constantly hear modern Greeks talking about Hellenism this or Hellenism that as if its some great example for the peoples of the world to follow, yet to date I have not heard one single modern Greek give even a basic definition of what 'Hellenism' means or is?

I feel this is an important question as the most famous of Macedonian Kings Philip II and his son Alexander III have been accused of spreading 'Hellenism' to the entire know world during their lifetimes. What is 'Hellenism' and what connection does for example, Stavros the local kebab shop owner or Con the fruiterer have with 'Hellenism'???

Why would anyone come when we have banned all Greeks at one point or another?

Ask those Greeks what they did to get banned.

They never respected our National and Ethnic name, that is Macedonian/s.

We give them the respect in return and call them by their National name and that is Greek/s.

No Greek internet warriors to defend the "Hellenism" of Macedonia, where are all the Kapitan Kottas supporters, Pavlos Melas wannabes and Ion Dragoumis lookalikes?
And not to forget the "spearhead" of "Hellenism" in Macedonia, Germanos Karavangelis, where are all of his idolaters?

But how can you say "respect" when the mere engagement in a discussion on the greekness of macedonia already negates our ethnic name and identity.

                  It's a catch 22...

It's the same as the "name" negotiations with Greece. Our mere participation in these "negotiations" gives validity to the Greek claim that perhaps we are not Macedonians and our name and ethnicity is up for negotiations.

Nikodim, why are you saying "our" name, "our" people, etc, which "our" are you from? Anybody that takes a look at your recent posts here (and the one's from before you disappeared a few months back) can easily see that you are a Greek pretending to be a Macedonian.

What's the matter, maggotsontheweb not doing it for you at the moment? Come then, you can answer on behalf of "them", the Greeks, you can take the mask off now, give it all you've got. Like Risto said, this is "your" chance to tell the Macedonians "how it is".

But how can you say "respect" when the mere engagement in a discussion on the greekness of macedonia already negates our ethnic name and identity.
Other way around mate, it is the Greeks who feel their identity is negated the second somebody contests the validity of any so-called 'Greekness' of Macedonia. It is the Greeks who feel their identity is negated when somebody states the obvious, such as Macedonia is MACEDONIAN.
