    "For historians of the old school, Greek history ended when the Greek states lost their political liberty; they looked upon it as a closed story, mounting to a heroic finish at Chaeronea."

      Nice topic Bratot. Pedestry was widely practiced in the Ancient city-states. So how does a term like 'hellenism' fit into this? What went wrong here where Filip and his Macedonian "greeks" () eliminated a practiced tradition that should have been very relevant to the ancient Macedonians?

      It's funny to also know that one of the founding fathers of modern 'greece' is heralded as a noble hero for their independence, but how many people in todays hellass know that this founding father, Lord Byron, was a Homosexual? In 1824, Lord Byron fell in love with a fifteen year old son of a Greek widow, Lukas Chalandritsanos, whom he employed as his page and for whom he wrote his last three poems before he passed away. This counts as pedestry in my book. And seeing how Byron is heralded as the premeir philhellene and saviour of what became grcija would he be accepted by modern greek society today if he were alive? Would his lifestyle fit in with the lifestyle of todays supposed hellene? Here is an interesting article about how todays grk government celebrated Lord Byron's name. Really read this one imposter hellenes because it is a doozy;

      19, April, 2008 Modern Greece honored one of the greatest philhellenes of all time, Lord Byron. Events to honor the poet Lord Byron and other foreigners who fought in the early 19th century Greek war of independence from Ottoman rule was signed into decree by Greek President Karolos Papoulias establishes April 19, the day Byron died fighting the Turks in 1824, as the "day of philhellenism and international solidarity," a Greek parliament statement said.
      "The events to be held on April 19 every year will keep alive the memory of Lord Byron in tribute to a great man who deeply believed in fundamental democratic values and the idea of Hellenism," the statement said.
      Byron died of a fever inside the besieged city of Messolonghi, western Greece, around a year after arriving with money and resources for the bedraggled Greek revolutionary forces.
      His sacrifice inspired other young men from Britain, France, Italy, the United States and other countries to join the uprising which eventually liberated Greece with the intervention of the British, French and Russian governments
      Note the bold text. In what I described above about "hellenism" and its supposed 10,000 year old cultural legacy to todays imposter hellene would Lord Byron be accepted by modern "greece" today? One more time;

      ]"The events to be held on April 19 every year will keep alive the memory of Lord Byron in tribute to a great man who deeply believed in fundamental democratic values and the idea of Hellenism"
      Would the modern "greek" state who have coiled around their bodies the satanic grk church accept Lord Byron and his homosexual, pedestry lifestyle if he were alive today? It seems that Lord Byron would suffer the very "fundumental democratic values" for simply acting on what the ancient Hellenes performed as what was normal societal traditions not found in modern "greece" today! In fact the Eurobarometer 2008 indicates that Greece and Cyprus are the countries where discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation is considered to be more diffused (73% in Greece, 51% in Europe). Greece is one of the most homophobic countries in Europe. So we can mathematically calculate what we already knew to begin with: Hellenism = BS!

        That very tradition led them to the downfall. They could not fight properly on the day of Chaeronea, cause their asses must have hurt them from the last night practices (homosexuality), so their mobility was largely restricted.

        To enquire after the impression behind an idea is the way to remove disputes concerning nature and reality.
