    Macedonian Language - Voden Dialect

YouTube - Macedonian Language - Voden Dialect

GAStojanov — June 17, 2009 — This recording is from 2002. The identity of the speaker is protected for safety reasons. Until 1997 greek government actively worked on suppressing the use of Macedonian language in Aegean Macedonia. Since then they softened up a bit, but now the dirty job is done by the nationalists/extremists, often protected and directed by the police and internal services.

Here is a picture of Voden the town was not renamed to Edessa at this time, 1916-1918. The town was renamed in the 1930s by the Greek Government.

Yeap, that's the one from Voden. Although I could not understand everything from this video, most of the words were familiar and I think I could get the gist out of every sentence. Definitely from Voden
