If only she realised what that flag signifies. I think her heart is in the right place and, clearly, she is a proud Macedonian but she has missed the mark completely on her choice of body art as an expression of her pride. Someone in her corner should have alerted her to just what that flag signifies - defeat, weakness and capitulation. Connotations not welcome in the fighting arena.

Unfortunately, the longer that flag sticks around as the symbol of the country, the more people will be emotionally invested in it (especially the younger generations).

The choice is unfortunate, but many people, even those proud of their heritage, only have a basic level of knowledge where it concerns the history of their ancestral homeland. I doubt she is even aware of the issues relating to that symbol. Her heart is in the right place and hopefully she becomes more informed on Macedonian matters in the future, as well as becoming a UFC champion.

And the less they will be aware of its true history and meaning. That's the main problem here, incompetent morons in Macedonia have socialised this treacherous symbol to such a degree that it now appears "normal" to many people.

The money and fame have clearly impacted Conor. He's not hungry anymore. And he was largely dominated by Khabib except for parts of the third. Overall Khabib deserved the win but he and his team lost the plot in the end. I guess part of that circus was a form of payback for the bus stunt that Conor pulled a couple of months ago. Farcical end to an otherwise decent fight.

Looking forward to it, he’s been doing very well yet is rated as the underdog in this fight. Hopefully he can continue on his winning streak. The return of Jon Jones on the same card will also be one to watch out for.

Fantastic second round tko win for Volkanovski yesterday. Even after he got dropped and taken down he showed tenacity and spirit to come back and demolish Mendes. Definite world champ potential.

                    Volkanovski after the fight:

"“I said it from the start, even though I knew he was one of the toughest guys in the division, I knew this is a fight I wanted, he’s a great fight but I’m Alexander the Great.”

One YouTube comment that was left by a Serb was pretty cool I thought - "Congratulations Aleksandar Makedonski"...Indeed, congratulations Aleksandar Makedonski. Hope 2019 brings more victories to our Alex from the Gong.

Francis Ngannou takes out the legendary Cain Valasquez:

Francis Ngannou wastes no time in his heavyweight bout with Cain Velasquez, needing only 26 seconds to knock out the former champ in the main event of UFC Fi...

In 26 seconds! Cain wasn't hit much but looks like he may have eaten a hook or an uppercut before he buckled then twisted his knee. Either way, stunning loss for a guy that many consider to be the best UFC heavyweight ever. Question now is can he make it back from this.

Alex Volkanovski is fighting again this Sunday afternoon (Saturday evening in the U.S.). His opponent is former legend Jose Aldo. If he can get the win he will almost certainly be in the running for a title shot, unless they put one more obstacle in front of him.
