Wikidioms - multilingual translation of idioms!

Dear All,
Let me introduce to you WikIdioms (http://www.wikidioms.com/) - a crowd-source project of multilingual translation of idioms, phrasal verbs, expressions and other kinds of collocations.
The site contains now circa two thousand expressions in several languages(Macedonian one of them) and is rapidly growing due to the efforts of our fellow translators.

The project is very young and we really need to better moderate the content to avoid the inaccuracies..Since we currently rely only on the efforts of the volunteers, it would be glad if you as native Macedonian speaker could contribute to the project..

I generally I stay away from anything to do with Wiki: wikipedia as its mostly innaccurate they can say anything & do not need to substantiate anything.. I don't know how accurate
these wikidioms really are i suppose if it's done properly they may be usefull.

George, I don't see any connection to wikipedia, do you? The term 'wiki' is a type of website program, not all 'wiki' websites are related to each other.


Anna, thanks for the notification, hopefully some of us from the MTO can contribute to the project, which I think is a good initiative. I will ensure that I contribute to it personally so long as our wishes are respected with regard to the choice of representative insignia of the Macedonian language on Wikidioms.

Please let me know if the suggestion has been approved, and I will get to work on it. Otherwise, there will be no contribution from the MTO, I just want to be upfront about this so there are no misconceptions going forward.

Our heritage is of utmost importance to us so this request should not be denied on any reasonable grounds. I will wait for your response.

i just thought that WIki uses a special collaborative softwarwhere anyone can write anything they want & add to it.That would be great if people from MTO can add their idioms & it would be pretty useful.

Anna, the least you can do is display the flag we would like to be displayed, is it that hard to get what we are entitled to?

It's not only the flag we want, it's the flag that represents us

This kind of idioms dictionary and translator would be really usefull for languages with many idioms and richness like German and as far as i know Macedonian.

For Macedonian it would be even more important, since i think the idioms and dialects were not really deeply and in detailed examined,studied and consequently published.
