Wait a second,,,, this cannot be right. I thought 'Macedonia is Greek for 4000 Years'? And Venizelos wrote that Macedonia had to not only become politically "but also ethnically Greek". Guess this smilie sums up the Pan-Macedonian societies scam with words -
Venizelos 1922 wrote,,,,,

In this book, it only says 1922 for the quote from Venizelos but i better further clarify that date;
I wrote a message few months ago and i used this same quote of Venizelos from another book;

"Ionian vision: Greece in Asia Minor, 1919-1922" by Michael Llewellyn Smith
It notes that Venizelos said this in October 1922. This is rather interesting and worth mentioning cuz we won our last battle with Greeks in the outskirts of Izmir at 9th September 1922. So, this means that the Greeks was already planing to manipulate and dislocate the population of Anatolia and Macedonia much earlier than they lost Aegean Anatolia since it would be unwise to think that Venizelos thought and announced population exchange in just 3 weeks after their occupation of Anatolia ended. Btw, Venizelos, the representative of Greece in the Lausanne, proposed population exchange to the Turkey few days b4 the peace conference ended. Turkish people never heard about population exchange b4 that day, july 1923.
You know, before the population exchange, Greek speaking population in Salonika was no more than %15-20 and the situation with the rest of Aegean Macedonia was quite same too. Also Greece`s total population was around 2 million in 1923 and 650.000 of them was Turks. So, population exchange was quite useful for Greece in two ways; dumping muslim Turk population out of Greece which consisted about %40 of their total population at that time and bringing 1.1 million christian from Anatolia to depopulate Macedonian population in Aegean Macedonia. Anatolian Christians was perfectly suitable victims for this cuz they have been forced to migrate out from their motherland without any money or property. They gone to Greece only by bringing their cloths on them. Nearly half of them couldn't speak one word of Greek at all but this was not a problem cuz they had no other choice then becoming newborn "modern" Greeks even tough they were just christian Turks of Turkey since 1100 AD, Byzantine times.
The ironic thing is, if you ask to the children of these people in Greece today, 9 out of 10 gonna tell you that the Turks forced them to leave Turkey as they call it like "Greek catastrophe of Asia minor". There is even a monument in Salonika, which noted on it like "for the memory of the victims of Greek genocide by Turks in Anatolia".

Also, without the presence of 1.1 million refugees, hellenization couldn't be done. Actually there was 4 stages of hellenization in Aegean Macedonia. First one was population exchange. Second one was the destruction of whole Jewish quarter of Salonika with a fire sabotage at Metaxas era and forcing ~100.000 Jews to leave Greece. Third one was the expulsion of ~35.000 Albanians(Chams) shortly after WW-2. Forth and the last one was the civil war of late 1940s.Last edited by Onur; 10-13-2010, 02:12 AM.

This echoes the statements made by the Prime Minister Tracoupis back in 1898, which signalled his intentions for the extermination of the Macedonians.
This is an interesting example of more Greek intentions at the highest level.
It also adds important historical context to the current 'name talks' and proves once again that the Hellenic Republic is interested in only one things - the political extinction of the Macedonian Republic so that it gain have unchallenged and total conquest of the Macedonian 'space' which includes name, heritage, history, political existence...etc.
Thanks for finding this.
